I tell every customer if they know where their main stop valve is and if they can turn off the water. If the customer cannot operate the stop valve then I would recommend in most houses a lever valve.
If you can turn off the water then if you have any leaks you can limit the water damage. Costing you less in damage and emergency call-out charges.
